Return to legos

It has been a very long time since I posted anything on "Lego my legos". It is difficult to play with legos when you have a little baby. However, things are looking up for the world of building blocks! My son is getting to the ages where he enjoys the little blocks! I couldn't be more proud.

Hard earned money...

I remember saving my allowance and whatever money that I could get my hands on in order to buy this Lego set. I was around 11 or 12 when I bought this and I think I appreciate this set more than any of the others because it was mine and mine alone.

Sad to get old...

Isn't it sad to get old...I have almost no memory of this Lego set. I think it was one that I purchased after my formidable years. The only reason that I found the instructions was because of the way the Lego people were dressed. I browsed through countless instructions until I saw a set that I vaguely recognized. Oh well…I love it the same as the rest.

One of the main reasons I got married...

Don't tell anyone, but one of the main reasons that I got married, was to register for this lego set.

My brother dared me to register for legos when Allison and I were setting up our wedding registry. Of course David (my brother) forced my hand, so I HAD to register for the coolest Lego set in Target. A family from my church actually got bought it and sent it to us, and for the record, it was my favorite wedding present...by far!

Lost in Space...

I am almost positive that the legos shown below belong to my older brother. Oh well…Possession is nine tenths of the law. A number of pieces have been lost from this set. I’m sure my brother lost those pieces (I’ll blame him).

Where all the magic happens...

This is where all the magic happens...Ok so it isn't magic. It is really just following directions and putting a block on another block in the order specified.

This is my lego workstation...

It is up in our attic and it can get pretty hot up there, so this is perfect Lego weather. It is cool enough that I don't have to turn the air conditioner on and it is hot enough that I don't need a heater. I prefer to call this time of year "Lego Season".

Here is another view of my workstation. The bins on the right house the legos in their finished state.

Space...the Lego frontier...

Considering that one small crack in your space suit could turn you inside out (scientific definition of decompression), the closest that I will ever get to going into space is on my “Gamma V Laser Craft”. It is the only way to travel.

I’m afraid it will only carry one person so you will have to leave all your space friends at home…so sad. :(

A favorite from the past...

I can remember getting this lego set for Christmas. In fact, I think it was a combined gift for my brother and I. Thank goodness my brother hasn't laid claim to his part of the legos. I think I would fight him for it.

I've lost a number of the accessories for the "soldiers", but I think it looks like it is supposed to.

This blog begins

My son is due at the end of December and I started another blog to follow the pregancy progress. My parents gave him (and me) a set of Legos for a joke baby shower gift. Putting those legos together and creating a blog entry made me get out all of my legos and start playing. That, in turn, made me want to start another blog all about my legos. I started this blog for two reasons...One, to document and inventory my love for the coolest building blocks ever, and Two, to lay claim to the legos that are mine (before my son comes along and wants to take them from me). :)

Enjoy.
